In this study, we developed a small circuit system to operate implantable imaging devices based on a complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) image sensor. This device could achieve low invasiveness to the animal and make multi-area implantation possible. A microcontroller embedded with the USB high-speed interface is used in the design of the system with a size of 30 × 40 mm2. The imaging experiment with the 124 × 269 Pixel CMOS image sensors showed an average frame rate of 80 fps in a dual-sensor setup. |
