Fabrication of Polymer Spacers for Flexible Nano-Phase-Separated LCDs

(in English) We have investigated the control of the structure of polymer spacers by using polymerization inhibitors for the flexible liquid crystal displays with high curvature performance and high image quality. By controlling the polymerization stopping period by the inhibitor concentration and the UV irradiation time, the formation of a polymer network in the vicinity of the polymer spacer was suppressed, and the driving voltage was reduced. The flexible nano-phase-separated liquid crystal display in this study has high contrast and high curvature performance and is promising for future flexible LCD applications.
