At the Education and Research Center for Mathematical and Data Science, Hokkaido University (MDS center), education of the data science skills and educator training are provided for all students regardless of any majors. I am now involved in various projects in MDS center. In data science, not only programming skills but also mathematical and statistical perspectives are quite essential for understanding the essence of data analytics, while students often face high hurdles in learning them. In this presentation, as a graduate student majoring in mathematics, I consider myself as an experimental object and describe one way of being a data science educator that I have learned through my activities at the MDS Center and my own research in mathematics. |
