Relation between Sound Frequencies and Human Emotional Characteristics

(in English) In this study, we investigate the relationship between the timbre of a musical instrument and human emotions
with respect to the timbre, and consider how a person responds to each timbre. As a result of investigating previous studies, we decided that the SD method appropriates for investigating human emotions, and conducted an experiment on 13 students at our college. We used a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) to equally perform each instrument, and had the subjects listening the sound sources to which different instruments were applied. As a result, we found that there are differences such as lightness and brightness depending on the characteristics of the instrument used, and also considered that these two emotional values are closely related.
