High-Detailing of Low-Detail Motion of CG Characters

(in English) The motion of a CG character is one of important elements in CG contents. Motion capture and keyframe interpolation are typical methods for creating motion of CG characters. The former can create high-detail and natural motions, but to edit motion capture data need requires knowledge and it is necessary to re-measure the motion data when we need different motions. On the other hand, it can create motions flexibly, but it requires skilled techniques and takes a lot of time to create high-detail and natural motions. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a method to create high detail motions using manually produced motions lacking detail expressions. In experiments, we confirmed generation of high-detail and natural motion of walking with added expressions from manually produced low-detail motions.
