Study of Transmission System of Advanced STL/TTL for Advanced Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting

(in English) The authors have been studying an advanced studio-to-transmitter link / transmitter-to-transmitter link (STL/TTL) for advanced digital terrestrial television broadcasting. The advanced STL/TTL is being considered by optimizing the parameters of 4K8K field pick-up unit (FPU) which is microwave wireless link for program contribution. In this report, we present a study on the basic specification of the advanced STL/TTL based on requirements such as transmission capacity and required carrier to noise (C/N) ratio, and describe the design guidelines of the transmission system based on the analysis of the propagation characteristics of microwave band fixed links.
