Field Trial of Handover between Multiple Base Stations using MIMO System with Adaptive Transmission Control for Next Generation Mobile Relay FPU

(in English) In order to expand a capacity of mobile relay FPUs, the authors have been researching a 4x4 MIMO system with adaptive transmission control that changes beam-forming weights, bit and power allocation, and turbo-code rates in accordance with channel conditions.
We conducted a field trial over the course of actual road race to verify a handover between multiple base stations, which was necessary for wide-area live production. The result showed that our system demonstrated a seamless handover between two base stations which were separated by approximately 6 km, leading to the expansion of transmission area.
