Volumetric video streaming data reduction using fixed one side 3D data

(in English) Volumetric video contents are getting a high attention across industries for their 6DoF viewing experience. However, in terms of streaming, it still has some challenges for high data volume and bandwidth consumption which results in high stress on the network. To solve this issue, we propose a method using one side 3D data (volumetric video) to reduce the data size while not affecting much of the visual quality from user’s perspective. Proposed method also reduces decoding and import time on client side which enables faster playback of 3D data. We conduct experiments and quantitative evaluation to measure the effect of the data reduction and quality degradation using the proposed method.
