Design of Dual-Beam Dual Circularly Polarized Microstrip Antenna Employing Slot-Coupling Directional Coupler Integrated Feeding Circuit

(in English) This paper proposes a dual-beam dual circularly polarized (CP) microstrip antenna that has a CP switching function in two different directions. The proposed antenna’s feeding circuit is a 4 × 4 multi-port directional coupler effectively using slot-coupling directional couplers. Four different phase conditions are realized at the output ports according to the input port. The proposed antenna consists of the feeding circuit and two dual-feed CP microstrip antennas. It provides four different radiation patterns by switching the input port. In this paper, the proposed array antenna is designed to have axial ratios better than 1 dB in around pm10° directions, and the performance is numerically evaluated by using electromagnetic simulation.
