Study of terminal selection schemes based on subband channel matrices in terminal-collaborated MIMO reception

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The number of transmit and receive antennas is one of the major factors that affect the frequency efficiency of a MIMO (multiple-input multiple-output) transmission system. It is well-known that the frequency efficiency depends on the minimum number of transmit and receive antennas. The existing scheme that applies a precoding technique from the base station in a multi-user MIMO system is not suitable for moving environments because of the accuracy degradation of the precoding. Therefore, a scheme for forming a collaborative group with neighboring mobile stations adaptively is one of the challenges that the multi-user MIMO reception remains. In this paper, a way that forms collaborative mobile station groups for each of the frequency subbands is proposed, and it is confirmed that the proposed schemes improve the error ratio performance over frequency-selective fading channels by computer simulations.
