Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this study, we conducted subjective evaluations to investigate the effects of resolution on showing facial expressions using light field displays. Two light filed displays with resolutions of 1,966 x 720 and 983 x 720 were used. The CG image that was a moving image of a virtual character and the captured image that was a still image of a real person were used for the subjective evaluation for the impressions of observers. We found that, for the captured image, the evaluation results regarding to ‘realistic’, ‘sense of affinity’, ‘high resolution’, and ‘sense of existence’ were higher for the high-resolution image than the low-resolution image with significant differences.
