Kirameki Display: the current situation of texture representation image/video capturing and generation and next challenges for the future

(in English) We have developed “Kirameki display” which is able to represent real texture of materials. And we have also investigated variations of Kirameki display systems including many types of input devices. As a result, we selected Unity for the first software development environment and developed Unity material asset (plug-in tool) for CG contents creators. It enabled us to realize real-time and interactive “texture representation” video generation with 4K resolution at 60Hz frame rate.
Besides, we discuss the current problems of Kirameki display system, and future topics for neural network technologies to estimate texture presentation factors from real photos or videos for the Kirameki display systems.
