Inverse rendering of surface roughness using variance-aware high confidence regions

(in English) A technique called inverse rendering is known to obtain the shape and reflection characteristics of an object in a target image and to generate a highly realistic model. In this study, we propose a method for estimating the surface roughness of an object using the inverse rendering technique. In this method, instead of using the entire target image as it is, a region with high confidence is extracted by introducing a constraint that takes into account two types of variance values, and by using only this region as the target image to estimate the roughness, more accurate results are obtained.
