Development of tracking sensors for 3D spherical displays
Takuji Kurosawa, Prima Oky Dicky Ardiansyah (Iwate Prefectural Univ.)
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) For creating more natural looking 3D images, it is necessary to apply perspective correction corresponding to the viewing direction. Tracking sensors are generally used to determine the user's viewing direction. However, the complexity of the sensor devices has made practical use of displays equipped with such corrections difficult. This study investigates the implementation of Vive-Tracker, Azure Kinect, and vision cameras as tracking sensors for a 3D spherical display and analyzes the differences in the appearance of 3D images generated based on each sensor.
