Person Verification Based on Finger-Writing of a Simple Symbol on a Smartphone -- Improvement of polar transformation and effect of fusing uncorrelated features --

(in English) We have studied to authenticate users based on their finger writing.
Users are asked to draw or write a simple symbol on a smartphone display, which makes the proposed method more convenient from a user's perspective compared to the conventional verification method.
In our previous studies, 40 individual features are extracted from finger-writing motion.
After the normalization and polar-coordinate transformation, they are fused together and used to verify whether users are genuine or imposters.
However, the introduced polar transformation method has a limitation and some efficient selection rule for fusing features is needed.
In this paper, we overcame the limitation of the polar transformation method.
Moreover, we propose to fuse features with low correlation and confirm their efficiency.
