Transmission Performance Evaluation of an Advanced ISDB-T -- Fixed Reception Performance Verification of Dual-Polarized MIMO using Channel Response Captured in Real Environment --

(in English) We are currently developing an advanced Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting-Terrestrial (ISDB-T) system to provide simultaneously 4K terrestrial broadcasting service for fixed reception and 2K service for mobile reception. We have already evaluated the transmission parameters that are candidates for practical use for the required C/N of 20 dB, which is equivalent to the operational parameters of the current digital terrestrial television broadcasting. In this paper, we evaluated the fixed reception performance of a dual-polarized MIMO transmission with horizontal and vertical polarizations as a function to realize various transmission capacities and robustnesses. The transmission performance of MIMO parameters, which have the same robustnesses or the same capacities as SISO, were evaluated by computer simulations using 101 channel responses captured in real environment. We verified the amount of improvement in transmission capacity and required C/N due to the introduction of MIMO.
