This paper presents the current status of research and development and future prospects of artificial vision for the reconstruction of vision in blind patients. It describes the principle, basic structure, and representative examples of the retinal stimulation type, which has been developed and partially commercialized, followed by a discussion of current issues and future developments of methods other than the retinal stimulation type. |
