Faster Convergence of An Adaptive Notch Filter using Variable Step Size

(in English) A cascaded second order adaptive notch filters implemented using an allpass filter, for the elimination of multiple sinusoids, have been proposed. Various adaptive algorithms for the adaptive notch filters are used. As the one of them, an adaptive algorithm which has a reduced bias in comparison to the gradient based algorithm has been proposed. Moreover, the range of the step size for the adaptive notch filter to be stable has been derived. Although the upper limit requires the narrow band signal, it is impossible to use the narrow band signal. To solve this problem, the input signal was used. However, the fast convergence speed could not obtained. In this paper, we propose that the band pass output signal from the adaptive notch filter is used as the upper limit value to obtain the fast convergence speed. Finally, the computer simulation results are presented to confirm the convergence characteristics.
