Analysis of Image Statistics related to Lightness Perception of Facial Skin Using PS Statistics Noise

(in English) Psychophysical reverse correlation can extract image features related to perception without prior hypotheses. However, extracted image features strongly depend on stimulus noise types. In this study, we proposed a novel reverse correlation method PS-statistics-based noise and attempted to extract image features related to the perception of facial skin lightness. The results show that both image features extracted from the two types of conventional reverse correlation methods using pink noise and contrast modulation noise are extracted with the proposed method, suggesting that the proposed method has the potential to extract a wide variety of image features.
