Verification of Attention Inducing Effect of Weak Wind Using Posner Task

To explore the possibility of using wind to orient users' attention in virtual environment, we used Posner's cueing task to test whether near-threshold wind stimuli were capable of orienting spatial attention. The results showed that a significant attentional effect was observed at about one second after the arrival of airflow with over-threshold intensity to our observers, while no significant effects were observed for the near-threshold wind stimuli. |
