Proposal of 4×4 Feed Matrix Integrating Planar Magic-T and 90° Hybrid

(in English) In this study, we propose and evaluate a novel feed matrix that replaces the Butler matrix, which is widely used as a feed network of beam-forming antennas. The proposed feed matrix consists of microstrip lines and slot lines, and its miniaturization is achieved by integrating planar magic-Ts and branch-line 90° hybrids. This paper presents the evaluation of the proposed feed matrix and an array antenna using the circuit by simulation. The designed phase error of the feed matrix is less than 2°, and the beam angles of ±8° and ±26° are obtained at 5.8 GHz.
