For the dispersed inorganic electroluminescence (EL) devices using ZnS:Cu phosphor, improvements of luminance and luminous efficiency are required. In this study, we have attempted both high-concentration activation of Cu+ and high-density formation of CuxS which acts as a carrier source. The ZnS:Cu nanoparticles and CuS particles were stirred in a solution, and CuS was adhered around ZnS:Cu nanoparticles. In the photoluminescence (PL) measurement, the direct excitation band due to Cu+ increased compared to the unadhered one. However, the conduction charge of the EL device was not changed. These results indicate that only Cu+ activation was enhanced by the CuS adhesion. |
