Trial Study of SC-FDE Wireless Transmission System for Television Program Contribution using Microwave Band -- Transmission Performance Evaluation against Non-linear Distortion --

(in English) FPU (Field Pick-up Unit) is important for emergency and live broadcast. Previously, for microwave-band FPU, both SC (Single Carrier) method which is power-efficient and OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) method which is robustness against multi-path interference have been standardized. In recent years, SC-FDE (Single Carrier - Frequency Domain Equalization) is attracting attention, because of this method can enable both high power efficiency of SC and the robustness against multi-path interference of OFDM. We compared the Transmit Spectrum Mask and BER (Bit Error Rate) by computer simulation for SC-FDE and OFDM methods. On Transmit Spectrum Mask and BER, we evaluate the robustness against non-linear distortion caused by amplifiers in microwave band.
