Noninterferometric detection by the transport of intensity equation method for a phase- and amplitude-modulated signal beam generated by a phase-SLM

(in English) Complex amplitude modulation, in which both the amplitude and phase of the signal beam are modulated, has been attracting attention for increasing the capacity of holographic memory. Several methods have been proposed to easily realize complex amplitude modulation by using a spatial light phase modulator and spatial frequency filtering, but none of these methods can necessarily achieve the desired complex amplitude modulation exactly. It is not obvious whether the transport of intensity equation method can be used to detect such generated signal beam. This study investigates it through experiments and simulations.
