Prototype of TV Viewing Robot Web Application

(in English) With the aim of making TV (television) viewing more enjoyable, we are researching a TV viewing robot that watches TV while communicating with people. Until now, we have developed a robot device for our research. This time, we have prototyped a TV viewing robot web application that runs on familiar devices such as smartphones and personal computers in order to make it easier to experience TV viewing with a robot. In the robot web application, we implemented functions such as uttering some things related to the TV content that the robot watches and responding when a person speaks to the robot web application. We configured the system so that processing with a large amount of computation, such as the generation of utterance sentences for robots, is executed on the server side or in the cloud service. In the result, we confirmed that the TV viewing robot web application smoothly worked even on the smartphone.
