Change of color categories induced by color discrimination learning

We examined the effects of perceptual learning of color discrimination on various color perception properties. The observer conducted five days of color discrimination training. Then, they took several color perception tests before and after the training. The results showed that the color category boundaries and the unique hue, an index of color appearance, shifted toward the training color. These results suggest that color discrimination training impacts various types of color perception, such as color appearance and categorical color perception. |
