Measurement of minimum audible movement angle per movement speed with constant stimulus sound duration

(in English) To clarify the effect of changes in sound image movement speed on the minimum audible movement angle, the MAMA was measured using a constant method with four different movement speeds (2, 10, 50, 250°/s) and nine different ranges of movement angle (0-8°), while keeping the duration of the stimulus sound constant. A loudspeaker array with loudspeakers placed at 2.5° intervals in the horizontal plane was used. The estimated MAMAs were 4.6, 4.3, and 4.1° at 2, 10, and 50°/s, respectively, and the MAMA were similar when the movement speed was varied. On the other hand, the estimated MAMA at 250°/s was 5.6°, which was larger than at the other speeds. Results at 2°/s ranged from 2.6° to 8.5°, with large individual differences.
