Enlargement of Visible Region in Volumetric 3D Display Using a Rotating Mirror Image Helix Pair Screen

(in English) We have proposed a volumetric 3D display in which cross-sectional images are projected on a rotating helical screen. This method can offer image observation from universal directions. One of challenges of this method is an existence of invisible regions occurred depending on observation angle. In this study, a mirror image helix pair screen with two helical surfaces coaxially arranged in a plane-symmetrical configuration was proposed and fabricated. The visible region of the mirror image helix pair screen was measured, and far enlarged visible region was confirmed.
