[Invited Lecture] Single Frequency Network using Microwave Band for Television Program Contribution

(in English) Wireless links for Television Program Contribution are called FPU (Field Pick-up Unit) in Japan, which is an important device for program relay or live broadcasts. In the microwave FPU system, both the SC (Single Carrier) system which has high power efficiency, and the OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) system which has robustness against multipath interference, have been standardized. In recent years, SC-FDE (Single Carrier – Frequency Domain Equalization) scheme, which achieves both power efficiency and multipath resistance, has attracted attention. SC-FDE also has the advantage of being able to configure a DF (Decode and Forward relay) method that does not degrade the signal due to relaying when relaying on the same frequency using a booster. This report introduces a trial to apply the SC-FDE system to the microwave band FPU.
