Communication Performance by Time Domain LDM in Next-Generation DTTB under ISDB-T

(in English) The study aimed to realize the 4K・8K broadcasting by simultaneously transmitting the Next-Generation DTTB and ISDB-T (Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting-Terrestrial), using the LDM (Layered Division Multiplexing) method. Simulation-based comparisons were made between the results obtained with LDM implemented in both the frequency and time axes. In a previous study, time-axis LDM exhibited lower quality compared to frequency-axis LDM. However, the introduction of oversampling in the LDM superposition reduced the required CNR for the advanced DTTB method by approximately 0.4 dB in comparison to frequency-axis LDM at the same bit rate.
