A Proposal of Lightness Conversion Taking Account of Hue of Maximum Absorption Wavelength of Cone Cells for Dichromats

(in English) For dichromats, there are certain color combinations which cannot be distinguished. Some methods generating images whose colors are easily discriminated by dichromats have been proposed so far. These methods can create the well-enhanced images for dichromats. However, some of them may change the hue components of the image and give trichromats unnatural impression, and may need time to solve a minimization problem. In this report, we propose a fast lightness conversion method taking account of hue of undiscriminatable colors. The proposed method can create the color image, which is natural for trichromats and is easily discriminated by dichromats. Experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed method in comparison with the conventional methods.
