Prototype of 2x4 MIMO SC-FDE Modem for Large-capacity Transmission using Millimeter-wave Band

(in English) We have been conducting research and development on a wireless transmission scheme using 42-GHz band in millimeter waves, which enables large-capacity transmission with a wide frequency bandwidth, to realize the wireless transmission needed for content production such as 3D and ultra-wide field-of-view video that gives a sense of presence and immersion. As a technology to achieve 400 Mbps-class transmission, we are proposing a MIMO SC-FDE (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output Single-Carrier - Frequency Domain Equalization) scheme that uses single-carrier modulation, to separate signals in the frequency domain multiplexed at the same frequency. This paper reports a prototyping modem that is implemented the proposed scheme and the result of evaluating its basic performance. By comparing the bit error rate characteristics between the computer simulation and the prototype, it was confirmed that the prototype achieved the desired performance.
