Proposal of Nonlinear Queue-flow Detection Method for Person Counting System

(in English) The purpose of this study is to improve a conventional waiting person detection system to accommodate non-linear queue shapes. Conventional methods have been proposed to detect only the linear queue in video images. However, these methods have difficulty in handling non-linear queue, false positives of waiting persons occur. In this study, we propose a non-linear queue-flow detection method based on Bezier curve approximation and DBSCAN with elliptic scan range to deal with non-linear queue-flow, and propose a dynamic deletion and path verification method. Experiments using an actual fixed-angle camera for experiment, and confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method in dealing with non-linear queue-flow by comparing the proposed method with the conventional method and the base method.
