Reconstruction of full-color images acquired with see-through screen camera using volume holographic optical element

(in English) A see-through screen (STS) camera using a holographic waveguide device (HWD) can capture the image directly in front of a transparent screen, and is expected to combine it with a display to realize remote communication with line-of-sight matching. However, when the HWD is enlarged to capture images at short distances and with a wide field of view, images with different numbers of total reflections are superposed, resulting in image blur. In this study, we develop a full-color STS camera using RGB HWD, and the multiple-image superposition formed by RGB HWD is removed based on a convex optimization method to obtain full-color reconstructed images.
