Analysis of transmission degradation in orthogonal subcarrier multiplexing systems using the same optical wavelength

(in English) An orthogonal subcarrier division multiplexing system (OSDM-PON) was proposed as a new technology other than WDM-PON to increase the speed of the currently used TDM-PON. It was confirmed that the subcarriers of each ONU in an OSDM-PON at the same optical wavelength can be separated by a filter. In this study, the number of ONUs and the subcarrier frequency spacing of each ONU are investigated to see what kind of data degradation occurs at the same optical wavelength, and the transmission characteristics are evaluated using BER.
