Experimental Study of Rectenna Array Employing Double-Voltage Type Miniature Rectennas

(in English) In this study, the effect of unit-rectennas’ variation in a rectenna array is experimentally evaluated changing the connection and combination of the unit rectennas. The output DC power variation of five rectennas used in the experiment is around 1.75 times. On the other hand, the optimum load resistance of each unit rectenna is the same as around 1200 Ω. When two rectennas are connected in series and parallel, the maximum output powers of both connections are the same as the total power of the two rectennas. Here, the optimum load resistance becomes twice and half, respectively. In case of four-element rectenna array, the maximum output power of the series connection equals to the total power of the unit rectennas similar to the two-element rectenna array. However, the maximum output powers of parallel, series-parallel, and parallel-series connection are lower than that of the series connection even though the simulated maximum powers are the same in all connections. Analysis of the reason is subject to the future work.
