Basic Study of Monopulse Three-Dimensional Beam Tracking Planar Array Antenna System Based on Secant Method Root-Finding Algorithm

(in English) This study proposes a three-dimensional beam tracking array antenna system based on the secant method root-finding algorithm. The proposed system consists of an RF part, which integrates a 2×2 planar array antenna, four phase shifters, and three magic-Ts, and a controller. The RF signal processing using the magic-T and the monopulse principle enable the beam control by a simple root-finding algorithm with low computational cost. In this paper, evaluation of control algorithms is performed using array factors. Furthermore, the feasibility of the proposed system is confirmed based on the simulation results of a planar array antenna.
