This study reports the results of the effect of functional nanoparticles on device performance of acrylate-based polymer-dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) light-controlling devices. By adding functional nanoparticles whose surfaces are coated with polymerizable functional groups to starting materials, PDLC device performance was improved even which was fabricated by high-temperature photopolymerization. It turns out that the effect of the functional nanoparticles was dependent on the liquid crystal material.
