[Poster Presentation] Fast Response Characteristics of Two-directions Electric-field Driving Thick LC Device for Millimeter-wave Valuable Reflector

(in English) In recent years, there are high expectations for reflective arrays, which can arbitrarily control the direction of reflection of incident radio waves, in order to expand the service range of next-generation mobile communications technology. We have proposed a method to control the orientation of thick-film liquid crystals used in reflect arrays by driving a two-directional electric field in order to speed up the fall response of the liquid crystals. We show that the proposed method can achieve a response time two orders of magnitude faster than the conventional method. In addition, a study for increasing the amount of phase modulation is also presented.
