A Game System with Generation of Holographic Movies using Cloud Cluster

Computer-generated hologram (CGH), which calculates holograms digitally, has high expectation because of its ability to record virtual objects and generate videos. However, there is several problems for implementation such as underdeveloped rendering method and huge computational load. In this study, we propose a simple holographic video game system which has occlusion culling with continuous parallax using ray tracing. Our method reduces calculation time with cloud cluster; which distributes their workload and handles user’s various inputs. Experimental results showed reconstructed image generated by our method stands at correct focal length and indicates the possibility to realize 3D video game which has no trigger of sickness by using the electro-holography. |
