[Poster Presentation] Alignment-Controlling Sandwiched Spacers of Polysiloxane Elastomer and Fabrication Technology of Curvature-Fixed Liquid Crystal Displays

(in English) In recent years, research on flexible LCDs has progressed, but there are limitations in the materials and thickness of substrates that can be used, as well as curvature resistance. In this study, we propose a stripe-shaped alignment-controlling sandwiched spacer that can be sandwiched between arbitrarily curved rigid substrate and can also control the molecular alignment of the liquid crystal. In this report, we fabricated alignment-controlling sandwiched spacers using silicone resin and evaluated the liquid crystal alignment characteristics due to the alignment control force on the spacer surface.
