Prototype Evaluation of Dual-Band Linear-Polarization Switchable Stacked Microstrip Antenna Loading Cross Slot and Diodes

(in English) This paper proposes a dual-band linear-polarization switchable antenna using a stacked structure. The proposed antenna consists of a square patch and cross-slot patch with diodes. The polarizations of the antenna can be switched by the switching voltage applied to the diodes mounted in the cross slot. The characteristics of the proposed antenna are analyzed and evaluated by simulation. As a result, linear-polarization switching in two bands is confirmed. A 2.5/5-GHz dual-band prototype antenna whose diode’s ON and OFF conditions are respectively replaced by a short and open circuit is fabricated, and the measurement results are verified. Good agreement is obtained between simulation and measurement even though the polarization angle in the 5-GHz band shifts by around 15 degrees.
