Flexible displays, which have been the subject of much research in recent years, use a flexible substrate, which causes not only deterioration in display quality but also damage when subjected to large external loads. In this report, we propose a novel liquid crystal device using microplastic tubes to realize a robust flexible display that can be used even under large external loads. The orientation of liquid crystal molecules injected into the microtubes, voltage drive, and pressure resistance were investigated. |
