[Poster Presentation] Attempt to synthesize stimulus signal waveforms for tactile displays

(in English) In virtual interactions, the composite sensory properties, which are surface features of real objects, are mostly missing. Therefore, this study proposes a tactile model based on piezoelectric vibration by varying the stimulus signal to modulate the friction between the finger and the tactile glove.
In other words, the relationship between human sensation and stimulus signals is clarified through experiments, and a tactile rendering algorithm is established to synthesize the image surface features by modulating the frequency, amplitude, and both of the stimulus signals to render the image surface features. Since tactile experience is considered to be influenced by visual information as well, we propose an algorithmic method for synthesizing tactile stimulus signals from physical images that does not depend on visual information. It is shown that vibration information can be extracted from acceleration data and stimulus signals can be synthesized.
