The ultra-high-resolution electronic holography liquid crystal devices with a pixel pitch of 1μm or less in the evolving information society are required. Conventional vertical field devices have problems such as significant field leakage in microscopic areas. The proposed solution advocates for the use of horizontal fields, minimizing field leakage. Driving these fields with a continuous voltage gradient in the row direction reduces electrode count while enhancing resolution. To counteract column-wise field leakage, the placement of ground electrodes between rows is suggested. Experimental evaluations confirm the effectiveness of this approach for sub-1μm pixel pitch driving, indicating a promising direction for advancement. |
