Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Compared to the fourth-generation mobile communication, the fifth-generation mobile communication enables even higher speed and larger capacity, but its communication range is narrower. By coordinating terminals, as in the case of terminal-coordinated MIMO reception, the number of antennas can be equivalently increased to enable high-capacity trans- mission without having to install many antennas on a small terminal. Assuming terminal coordination MIMO reception, the UHF (Ultra High Frequency) band, which has excellent radio propagation characteristics, is used for communication between base stations and small terminals, and the frequency used for coordination between small terminals is SHF (Super High Fre- quency), which improves frequency utilization efficiency. In this study, we developed a prototype base station for 12×12MIMO transmission in the UHF band using a software radio, assuming that terminal-collaborated MIMO reception is applicable and that the distance between receiving antennas can be sufficiently secured. The maximum difference in output power from each of the 12 transmitters was 1 dB, the maximum difference in Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) was 0.6 %, and the maximum difference in output power from each transmitter in the occupied frequency bandwidth was 5 kHz.
