Analysis of settings and appearance of female character model kits manufactured in 8 companies

(in English) A female character model kit is a plastic kit of a girl character or a humanized robot. We surveyed 196 model kits of 13 female character model series manufactured in Japanese 8 companies. Our findings are: The 13 series have similar distributions of hair colors, colors of arms and face parts; Distribution of hair styles and eye colors vary in the 13 series; The degree of freedom is inversely proportional to the numbers of world settings and character settings. We conclude that it is important to choose hair colors and colors of arms according to traits of target characters in the future.
