Production of explosion scene including backdraft

(in English) In this study, we propose a method to represent the backdraft observed in a compartment fire in 3DCG by employing the Euler equation, which is based on the Navier-Stokes equation, the governing equation of fluid dynamics. In the process of calculating the advection term, the applied BFECC method is used instead of the Semi-Lagrange method that is generally employed. As a result, a more realistic representation of backdrafts is possible. The filmmaker can easily set the initial and calculation conditions and reduce the time and effort required to obtain a realistic backdraft. In addition, the advantages of this method over live-action filming include lower production costs and the ability to make post-production modifications and adjustments.
