Building a Music Creation System for a One Time Experience

The objective of this research is to create “one-time music” using chance, through space and time interwoven between people. It also aims to ask visitors about the difference between listening to “sound” and “music” using the system created in this research. To achieve this goal, we built a music creation system using Unity and Arduino. The interface of the system was designed to symbolize the sharing of space and time by visitors and was based on the image of a clock face. The “movement” and “behavior” of the people in the “place” where the system was installed triggered the spinning of various sounds. This is also an attempt to make “relationships between people” that we are not aware of in our daily lives apparent through a series of sounds. |
