A study of Forword Error Correction schemes for STL/TTL using Microwave relay line and Wired IP line Systems

(in English) We have been studying an advanced studio-to-transmitter link / transmitter-to-transmitter link (STL/TTL) for Advanced Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting - Terrestrial (Advanced ISDB-T). STL/TTL wireless lines may go down with a certain probability due to fading caused by natural phenomena, etc. To improve the reliability of STL/TTL, it is necessary to develop an STL/TTL system that uses both wireless and wired IP lines. Therefore, we investigated a method for error correction by selecting the likelihood ratio obtained from both wireless and wired IP lines, and verified it through computer simulation. As a result, we confirmed that the reliability of STL/TTL is improved by using both wireless and wired IP lines.
